Celebrating Small Businesses

Posted Saturday, November 26, 2011

Happy Small Business Saturday! For the second year in a row, American Express OPEN is leading an effort to encourage shoppers to do some of their holiday gift buying at small, local businesses. If you are an Etsy shop owner, that means you!
How can you celebrate?
  • Check the EtsyKids 2011 Holiday Guide for great deals from shops creating awesome items for kids.

  • Find great weekend-long sales at EtsyKids shops by using search term “etsykidsblacksale”!

  • Browse Etsy for gifts before heading out to the big box stores.

  • Do your shopping at small, locally owned businesses. You’ll be helping out a neighbor!
If you’re a shop owner, don’t forget to add Small Business Saturday to your Black Friday-Cyber Monday sale and advertising push! And, set a good example: Shop small for your holiday gifts!
Why shop handmade this holiday season? Team member Storybuilder Toys shared 10 reasons for buying handmade in a recent post here on the blog.
Happy shopping!

In celebration of Small Business Saturday, use the coupon code SMALLBIZSAT to get an additional 5% off items in my shop--including items all ready marked down for the Etsy Kids Black Friday/Cyber Monday Extravaganza :)
