Treasury Challenge Winner

Toastie Studio is an European based Etsy shop. Owner Stephanie is originally from the UK, but moved to the Netherlands in 2009. She took the opportunity of living in a new country to follow her love for sewing and designing. She set up her own company, Toastie Studio in 2010 and has been making soft toys, cushions and other fun whimsical items for kids ever since.

"I cherish the fact that I can work for myself from home doing something I love. Every morning I wake up and don't have that dread of an office desk job. My Etsy shop started slow, but over the last year has really bloomed. A big part of that is because of the EtsyKids Team, I have loved been part of the Team, and all the members are so supportive and great to work with. With the New Year not so far away, I am dreaming of everything it has to hold for me."

EtsyKids Team Treasury Challenge Winner!

The themes this week were "One Last Trip to the Beach" and "Fall Fashion". It was a very close contest this week! We had lots of beautiful treasuries, and five had over 150 views! Head over to Etsy to check them all out! The winning entry was curated by Sunflowers and Daisies.

Sunflowers and Daisies is approaching their one-year "Etsyversary". Owner Shanna is a native New Englander, a former special education teacher, a pastor's wife and a mom of two. She makes the most adorable and creative hair bows I've seen! Her shop is named after her two favorite flowers. When asked what inspires her, she says, "I am inspired by nature, life and watching my children learn, grow and laugh. I love to incorporate these things into my hair accessories and my creations."

We will be taking a week off from the Treasury Challenge due to the upcoming holiday weekend, but we'll be back next week!

EtsyKids Team Treasury Challenge Winner!

We decided to bring back the Weekly Treasury Challenges we used to have as part of our Treasury Team. The first week's themes were "Go for the Gold" and "Back to School." Our team members curated some great treasuries fitting these themes that you can see here.

The winning treasury was submitted by Cheryl of Harmony Girls Clothing. Opening in 2009, Harmony Girls' Clothing specializes in handmade clothing for smart girls with style. Cheryl says, "The garments I make are bursting with vivid colors, and I love to create harmony by mixing and matching colors, patterns, and prints." From ruffles to patchwork, this playful, modern clothing is made to twirl around in, but will also hold up to bike rides and tree climbing. Each garment is made with caring attention to detail, comfortable sizing, and meticulous finishing.

About her craft, Cheryl says, "I love sewing….and I sew often and a lot. To me, sewing is more fun than you are supposed to have as a grownup. I am a life-long seamstress, and this is the kind of craftsperson I am – perfectionist, artist, miser, and speed demon – it’s a complex relationship."

As the winner, Cheryl got to choose this week's themes. She chose "Back to (Obedience) School" and "Before the Fall Harvest".  You can see this week's submissions here. The treasury with the most views is the winner!
